A New Beginning, Rooted in 1985

Jashan may be a new name in the world of home appliances, but our story goes back more than four decades.

Our family’s journey in the world of electronics began in 1985. What started as a small family business grew over the years through experience, relationships, learning and an understanding of the ever-changing needs of Indian consumers.

And in many ways, Jashan brings that journey full circle.

The first business of my father ever started was in small home appliances. Over the years, our journey took us into different areas of electronics, but when it was time to start something new again, we found ourselves looking back at where it had all begun.

And that is how Jashan began.

Why “Jashan”?

The name Jashan holds a meaning that is deeply personal to our family.

It is inspired by our spiritual Guru, ‘Reverend Dada J. P. Vaswani, lovingly known as Dada Jashan’ — a name that has been a part of our family’s journey and values for generations.

At the same time, Jashan means ‘celebration‘.

And we couldn’t think of a better word for the brand we wanted to build.

Because we believe celebrations aren’t limited to festivals, birthdays or special occasions. There is a little Jashan in the everyday too — breakfast together before everyone heads out, a cup of chai with family, cooking a favourite meal for someone you love, or simply having a little more time for each other.

Products We Would Use Ourselves

As we build Jashan, there is one simple question we want to keep asking ourselves.

Would we use this in our own home?

We don’t want to add products to our range simply to make our catalogue bigger or because something happens to be trending.

We want to offer appliances that are ‘useful, practical, dependable and relevant to everyday Indian homes’ — products that we would be happy to use ourselves and recommend to our own families.

Having spent decades in the world of electronics, we have seen products and trends come and go. That experience has taught us that what matters isn’t just another feature printed on a box. It is how well a product works, how useful it is and how naturally it fits into everyday life.

Because if we wouldn’t bring it into our own homes, ‘we shouldn’t ask you to bring it into yours.’

Jashan brings together two things that don’t often come together — ‘the excitement of starting from scratch and the experience of having been in the industry since 1985.’

We are returning to the category where our family’s entrepreneurial journey first began, but we are building it for the homes and lifestyles of today.

For us, Jashan isn’t simply another business.

“It is a return to where we started.
A tribute to where we come from.
And the beginning of something new.”

And as we begin this next chapter, we hope to become a small part of millions of everyday moments across Indian homes.
